Your regulars.
Your referrals.
The people searching your name.
Keep the marketplace for the strangers it finds you — that's what it's good at. This is for everything you already own.
We build your whole site free.
Booking, deposits, and your client list included — and you don't pay a cent until you accept your first booking. Then it's $19 a month, and we will never take a cut of a client you brought us.
Free until your first booking · keep every listing you have · then $19/mo, no cut of any trip
Site, trips, calendar, clients — pay nothing until the day it earns.
Deposits land on YOUR Stripe. Flat $19/mo after — no commission, ever.
Your photos, your species, your seasons — a site that feels like your outfit.
Do the math on what you're on now.
A marketplace rents you a listing. This is the place that's actually yours.
A commission is fair enough on a stranger the platform found you. It stings on the regular who'd have called you anyway and on the buddy your client sent. In FishingBooker's own words the 10–30% you set is the fee “for every successful trip that comes through our site”; FareHarbor puts a booking fee on your angler's bill instead, at a rate it doesn't publish. This is what a cut costs on the trips you'd have booked yourself.
We're $19 a month and take nothing from a booking. Three trips a year that come to you directly pays for the whole thing — the orange line is everything after that.
What are you on now?
Keep it for the strangers it finds you. This is about the trips you book yourself.
50 trips= $28,650 a year
FishingBooker at 15%
$4,298
Timber & Tackle flat
$190
$4,108 of that stays with you a year.
Same trips, same clients — booked on your own site instead of through a cut. Keep your listing for the strangers it brings.
Only guide part of the year? Pause the rest.
Run your seasons, then pause your bill in the off-months — $0 while you're off the water, and your site stays live, still booking next season. You only pay the months you're actually fishing.
FishingBooker commission is captain-set between 10–30% per their help center, charged on every trip that comes through the listing. FishingBooker Direct re-books your own past customers and phone callers commission-free for 2.65% + $0.30 processing, on their platform — so count only the trips that still run through the listing. We assume those same trips book on your own site instead.

THE SPEC SHEET
What you're really paying for.
Not an argument for leaving anywhere — a marketplace earns its cut finding you strangers. It's about who owns the angler after that first trip, because the one who owns the client gets the next ten bookings.
| FishingBooker | FareHarbor | Timber & Tackle | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Their cut of a trip | 10–30% commission you set, on every trip through the listing | A booking fee on your customer at checkout — rate not published | $0 — flat fee only |
| Who eats the fee | You | Your customer — or you, on their Commission Model | Nobody — your price is your price |
| A regular or a phone caller books again | Commission-free via FishingBooker Direct, 2.65% + $0.30 processing — on their platform | Booking fee again | Free — on your site, your client |
| Whose account the booking lives in | Theirs — Direct goes away if the listing does | Their booking system | Yours |
| Take a platform customer to your own site | Against their bypass policy | Not a marketplace — no one to take | yes — anyone who finds you off-platform is yours from trip one |
| Your own domain & SEO | A listing on theirs; Direct mirrors it | Your site, with their checkout | |
| Walk away with your data | Not published | Not published | One-click export, anytime |
Hunting side? Same story.
BookYourHunt's price-parity rule means you can't offer a returning hunter a better price direct than the one on their listing — the platform's terms follow you home. Let it find you hunters you'd never have met; that's worth paying for. Just don't let it set the price on the hunter who already knows your name.
YOUR GUIDE ALREADY KNOWS
Two hundred mornings
up here before yours.
That knowledge is the product.
You already know where they live — which drainage, which bench, what the wind does at first light. That's what every client is really paying for. Booked direct, it pays you at full price, with nobody in the middle.
THE SERIOUS-BUSINESS MATH
A $60,000 season on a 10–30% commission book gives up
Here, the software costs a flat $19/mo — $190 if you pay for the year — and it takes $0 of any client you brought. That's the whole model.
Run YOUR number →GOLDEN HOUR, ROD LOADED
You handle the fight.
We handle everything else.
A request comes in, you accept it, the deposit lands on your Stripe — while you're on the water. Gift cards, balances, review requests, all running between trips.
ONE CALL, ONE TAP
We build it. You approve it. You book.
1
We build it
Send us your trips, or just your website. We build your whole booking site and load it up — before you pay a dime.
2
You approve it
Tap a link, look it over, approve. One phone call and one tap — that's your whole setup.
3
You book
Clients book direct on your domain, pay their deposit, and the money goes straight to your account.
WHICH ONE ARE YOU?
Three kinds of guides land here.
We rebuild the whole thing free — your photos, your trips, your reviews, your old pages redirected so the Google equity carries over — and bolt real booking onto it. You saw the sites. There is no version of your current page that beats it.
Get the rebuild, free →“Free” software that adds a fee to your client's checkout (commonly reported ~6% in the US — they don't publish the rate). Here your clients pay your price, the money lands on your Stripe, and the software costs a flat $19 a month.
See the switch math →Keep it — strangers are what it's good at. Run this alongside it as home base: your repeats, referrals, and phone calls book on a site you own, on your domain, with a client list you can walk out with.
How alongside works →THE PART YOU CAME FOR
Hold your breath.
He's coming.
WHOSE CLIENT IS IT
The listing's customer is the platform's. Yours should be yours.
Read FishingBooker's own rules: asking a platform customer to book you directly, sharing your number to get around the commission, sending them to your own site — all against policy, all monitored, all grounds for removal. To its credit, FishingBooker Direct now lets you invite a past customer or a phone caller to book commission-free. Read what that is, though: a booking page that mirrors your listing, on their platform, under an account they can restrict or remove — and by their own policy, Direct goes with it.
On Timber & Tackle, the angler is yours the moment they book.
- Your domain and your SEO — not ours.
- Your Google Business Profile stays yours.
- Your client list is yours alone — never shared, never sold, never behind someone else's login.
- Email and re-book them direct — no policy says you can't.
- One-click full export, any time. The day you start and the day you leave.

NO FINE PRINT
Straight answers.
Do you take a cut of my bookings?
Never on a client you brought us — not one percent, and that's a standing promise. Trip money goes client → your Stripe account. Our only revenue is the flat subscription.
I'm already on FishingBooker. Do I have to leave?
No — and we'd tell you not to. A marketplace is genuinely good at finding you strangers, and we don't do that at all. Keep the listing. We're for everything you already own: your regulars, your referrals, the people Googling your name, the trips you book yourself. Run both; they don't fight.
FareHarbor is free. How do you beat free?
FareHarbor is free to you because the fee rides on your customer's bill at checkout instead — and FareHarbor doesn't publish the rate. The third-party guides that put it around 6% disagree with each other, and its own contract offers a Commission Model where you pay a percentage instead and the customer sees one price. Somebody pays a percentage either way. Here your price is your price: a flat fee, no surcharge on either side.
What if I run trips seasonally?
It's free until you accept your first booking — then $19/mo. Sign up in the off-season, get the site built, and pay nothing until a trip is actually on the books.
Who owns my website and clients?
You do. Your domain, your SEO, your Google profile, your client list. One-click export any time — including the day you decide to leave.
What does setup take?
A phone call and a tap. We build the whole thing and you approve it. You don't configure anything.
Your trips. Your money. Booked direct.
Tell us your website or your trips. We'll build the whole site free and send you a link. Look it over. If the math doesn't move you, you've lost nothing but the time it took to read this.
